Trash to Treasure

For the first week in May we are going to be turning stuff that you would normally throw into the 'Trash' into a 'Treasure'. So what can you look out for in preparation for this class?

Look at old clothes - you might be able to use the buttons and even the pockets. Old envelopes, playing cards and ticket stubs can also make great embellishments.

Here I used old embroidery thread labels, old buttons and presstuds

Scrapbook products come in interesting packaging. This can be turned into an feature on your page.

Old postage stamps make excellent page embellishments.

Labels off bottles and boxes. This was a label from a box of Port.

Clothing labels can be quite creative and can be turned into great tags.

When walking around shopping centres, keep your eyes peeled to the ground.
In this example I found an old piece of weathered, shaped wire which made the perfect hanger for my mini collage. I also used an off cut of a piece of leather.

So keep your eyes open ...you will be amazed at what you can use.

April Class Descriptions

Triple Tags: 1st and 10th April
Make a triple tag, stitched together with binding or paper. A great way to add extra photos to your page, or certificates reduced in size, or travel tickets. Bring any set of 10 photos together with memorabilia to class.
Strike Through: 6th – 10th April
The strikethrough text feature in Word can be used in a document to track changes that have been made (in other words crossing out a word). Well we are going to be crossing through our large letter title with a strip of paper and journaling. Bring 6 V or 6 H photos or another combination of 1 H; 1 V; 3 C

Easy templates

Sometimes you just need something to help you draw a quick circle or corner without having to find the tools. Look around your desk for something that has that shape.

For a perfect 7.5cm circle use the centre of a roll of double sided tape.
Draw with a pencil and cut it out.

For a large rounded corner, use the rounded curve of a 'Click 'n Stick'.
Again draw the curve with a pencil and cut it out.

It's so easy and quick.

Happy Easter
