We are back from Italy

What a wonderful trip we had.
These are just a few photos to show you where we went and what we did.

In Rome we toured the Colosseum

and the Vatican with all the famous works of art,

we tossed a coin into Trevi Fountain,

and sat on The Spanish Steps.

In Florence we saw the great Duomo but didn't climb to the top,
walked over the Ponte Vecchio,
saw three versions of the statue of David,
and watched the sun set over Florence from the Michaelangelo Hill.We spent our time in Tuscany on a wine and olive farm
and negotiated our way through the narrow streets.
We visited the medieval towns of San Gimignano and Siena,
and rode a Segway in Pisa.
We wound our way about the canals of Venice,

had waterside seats for the Regata Storica,

toured the beautiful Palazzo Ducale,
visited the colourful island of Burano,
drank and ate all the delicious Italian fare on offer

and generally had a great time!
Now it is back to work.

We sanded, painted, tore, stitched, hammered and turned the school hall into a real workshop. Thanks Edenglen High for hosting the Scrapfest once again to Ilana for the delicious food and to everyone who worked so hard to make the day such a great success.

Just wanted to say thanks again for an AWESOME day on the 14th!
I thoroughly enjoyed the pages, and all the techniques we used. It was really great.
I especially liked the idea we used with the lettering – will definitely use my leftover sticker letters in this way again, and again, and again! Elaine

A huge, big thank you for the excellent and most enjoyable day on Saturday at the Scrapfest!!! Someone at work asked me last week what more could I learn? Why am I always going to classes and these wonderful days? I just laughed, because how do you explain to a ‘non-scrapper’ that we will always find something to learn. Thank you once again for everything and also for the lovely prizes (I will show off my NEW nails and glue – yes, I was a very happy, lucky winner!) and the FOOD… Couldn’t wait to get home for ‘show and tell’. Erna

Till next time.

The world is on our door step - welcome to South Africa

This page, made by Revi Atti, was just one of many 2010 pages we made in class at the beginning of the year. It really captured the South African colours and the soccer theme so well. The zeros have flapping pages to reveal the other months.

It is finally here.
GO SOUTH AFRICA, GO!!!

Painting negative shapes

When painting chipboard, paint it on a piece of cardstock to co-ordinate with your page and then use the cardstock, with its impression of the negative shape you just painted, as a unique background paper.

How appropriate are these two images as we welcome the soccer fans from around the world to South Africa.
Feel it!

The world cup is on our doorstep and we need to embrace the moment, join in the fun and excitement and get into the mood. I strung some flags up outside my front door and I love the way in which they flutter so quietly in the wind.
